Your Arms Are Too Short to Box with God

Updated: May 21

We are in a proverbial boxing match with God — and we’re losing.

Not because He’s cruel. Not because He’s picking a fight. But because we step into the ring thinking we know better. We read His Word, see His commands, and feel the sting of conviction… and still resist.

Why? Because we think we’re strong enough to argue with the Almighty. Because pride says, “I know what’s best.” Because fear whispers, “If I surrender, I’ll lose everything.” Because arrogance dares to raise a fist and say, “You don’t understand my situation.”

But here’s the truth:

Your arms are too short to box with God.

The real fight isn’t about whether God’s Word is right. It’s about whether we’ll let it change us.

We wrestle with His promises: "You're my beloved son." We pull back from His commands: "Forgive. Obey. Be holy." We pretend not to hear when He says: "Go. Lead. Die to yourself."

And don’t forget what He’s called us:

  • Ambassadors of His Kingdom — sent into the world to represent Him with courage and conviction.

  • Warriors for truth — not timid, but equipped to stand, even when it’s unpopular.

  • Priests and Kings — called to intercede, to serve, to govern with humility under His authority.

  • Builders of legacy — raising families, shaping culture, fighting for what’s eternal.

  • Carriers of grace and grit — sons who lead with the tenderness of the Lamb and the strength of the Lion.

You weren’t called to be passive. You weren’t called to play safe. You were called to walk in power, purpose, and identity.

This isn’t just rebellion — it’s blindness. We forget that He’s not trying to knock us out… He’s trying to set us free.

When you resist God's truth, you don’t win peace — you lose sonship. You forfeit the security that comes from full surrender. You exchange transformation for frustration.

So why fight?

Drop your gloves. Step out of the ring. Let the Father be Father.

He’s not your opponent — He’s your rescue. He’s not trying to take something from you — He’s trying to give you your identity. And no, He doesn’t need your permission to be right.

But He waits for your surrender to make you whole.
